Lets be honest - you have been browsing through different wedding photographers photographs for a little while now, you've seen so many photographs but they have all been the highlights of other peoples days. The best of the best. The GOAT photographs.
I want to have a place to show you it all though - to talk about real moments, the intimacy, the raw emotions, the atmosphere. Thats what a photograph should do - create discussion. We post our photographs on social media and our websites and maybe add a little caption to them, but I don't believe it is doing a whole wedding day justice. Here’s the challenge - how do you make someone feel something they never lived? How do you move an audience who wasn’t there, who didn’t hear the laughter or feel the heartbeat of the day? Because that's what you are looking for when you are searching around and looking for your perfect photographer.
This is where this blog is going to come in. I want to take you behind the photographs - into the moments themselves. The nerves, the laughter, the chaos, the calm. I want to show you how it all unfolds: what the couple was feeling, what was happening just beyond the frame, and how those memories found their way into my lens.
My hope is that when you read these stories, you’ll feel as though you were there with me - hearing the music, catching the glances, living the energy of the day. Because weddings -they’re magic. They’re a day where everyone looks and feels their best, where love fills every corner, and the air hums with celebration. Why wouldn’t you want to relive that, over and over again?
Its also time I start sharing my wisdom. After years of photographing weddings, I’ve gathered more than just pretty pictures - I’ve collected lessons, perspective, and a few too many “wish I’d known that sooner” moments. But since getting married in July, I’ve been on both sides of the lens, and I see it all differently now. I’ve stood where you’re standing but also have worked where your vendors are working. I’m not just a photographer - I’m a double threat. I’ve navigated venue timelines, handled vendor expectations, captured all the little and big moments whilst making sure you and your guests are having the best time. But I’ve also been the bride. The one who poured her heart into every detail, trusted her team to show up, and hoped that all those Pinterest-inspired DIY projects would somehow look as perfect as they did in her head. I know what it’s like to want everything to feel effortless, even when it’s anything but, so I want to give you advice on how to make it work and how to get your vendors to make it work for you too - because its not all on your shoulders just because its your day, it takes a team who adore and love you to make the day perfect for you. I want to be a part of that team!
So buckle in and keep an eye on this space as together we build the ultimate guide to wedding planning and share the feelings behind the personal moments you get on the day you commit to being everything for your other half for the rest of your life!
